You are data.

Human has become a production unit of data – ie fuel component for the engine of modern consumer information society. 

The key foundations of an advanced information society are: people and nature; environment and infrastructure; knowledge and information; interaction and cognition; and exchange, ie economics. And time. Digitization is strongly associated with all of these. Only The Nature is not yet digitized.

The foundations of digitalization, on the other hand, are technology, data and humans. It is said that digitalization in challenging. But technology and data do not make digitalization understandable, clear or easy. And not challenging, confusing or difficult. We humans do. We take from digital what is superior in it: speed; and we add the most troublesome: ourselves. Human makes digitalization understandable or challenging; clear or confusing; easy or difficult.

Human activity is unconscious and conscious observations, conclusions, and choices. Human conscious actions are always based on some kind of assessment of what is worth pursuing. Action can be purposeful and irrational at the same time. Happen on purpose or on a whim. Based on independent decision-making and exposed on influences. Habit-driven and impulsive. Meaningful and superficial. Emotional and rationally grounded. Self-conscious and socially minded.

You are data !

In the equation of digitalization the hman is a factor creating uncertainty and discontinuity.; unstable and difficult to predict. In the depths of the digitalized consumer society, individual traces of human choices are recorded as events. Individual events form a set of events. In digitalization the set of events that accumulate from these individual human choices is called data. Human has become a production unit of data – ie fuel component for the engine of modern consumer information society.

Data is human decisions.

Which coffee have you been drinking in the last 12 months. How many trips do you make on the local train each week. At which gas station did you last refuel your car. Did you use a loyalty card when refueling. How much meat do you eat per year. Or bananas. How often do you travel abroad. What is the level of your flight points. Did you buy the trip from a travel agency or from the airline. How often do you get sick. Have you received the third and final vaccination in the typhoid vaccination series. Which book did you last listen to from the audiobook service. How much alcohol do you consume. How many vacuum cleaner bags do you buy each year. Do you drink milk or oatmeal. What is your religion. Have you completed military service. Which movie did you watch last? Have you been five meters closer to being exposed to a corona.

Data itself is unorganized information with no meaning context.

Digitalisation is everywhere in the modern consumer society, and everything we do in the depths of digitalisation leaves a mark, that is, consumer data. But this data is unorganized information without meaning and order, a set of values of qualitative or quantitative variables. When a clear context can be found for this information, it becomes valuable information.
